A gunman shot down two men on a sidewalk in the West Side's North Austin neighborhood, police said this morning.
Killed were Shavez Wilson, 22, and Roy Smith, 25, according to the Cook County medical examiner's office.
Police said the two men were talking in the front yard of Wilson's home in the 1200 block of North Mason Avenue just before 1:15 a.m., when the gunman emerged and shot them in the head.
Both Wilson and Smith, of the 5900 block of West Huron Street, were dead at the scene.
Police had few other details as Area North detectives were still gathering information. No arrests had been made.
