A Stone Roses fan who went missing after one of their concerts in Manchester has been found dead in Salford.
Police said they were called to the Manchester Ship Canal at 9.30am where a body, later confirmed to be that of 22-year-old Chris Brahney, was discovered.
A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said he could confirm that the body was that of the missing man.
Mr Brahney's disappearance sparked a huge Facebook and Twitter campaign to try to find him, including a message released from the band.
Posters were also put up around Manchester.
A statement by the Stone Roses: "We'd like to extend our sincerest condolences to Christopher's family and friends. Our thoughts are with them at this incredibly sad time." Ian, John, Mani and Reni.
Hundreds of people came to a rally on Thursday organised in Piccadilly Gardens, Manchester by Mr Brahney's friends and family, where his father gave an emotional address.
Mr Brahney was last seen by his friends at about 11.30pm on Friday June 29, when he was at the concert in Heaton Park, Manchester.

He lost his phone at the gig and had become separated from his friends.
A statement was posted on the Find Chris Brahney Facebook page by Francesca Tracey: "It is with great sadness that on behalf of the Brahney family I am writing to you all.
"The police will be issuing a formal statement soon regarding the body that was found in the canal this morning.
"At this time we believe that it is Chris, however formal identification has still to take place.
"The family would like to thank everyone for all the kind words, thoughts and prayers that you have sent our way. Thank you for all the support, it has given them immense strength and courage.
"Please respect the family's wishes and ensure that they are left alone during this difficult time."
The police spokesman added that a post mortem examination would take place on Tuesday.
