Hundreds of high school kids and their parents gathered to remember Quentin Boggan, a 16-year old from Bonney Lake High School.
The memorial happened at Allen Yorke Park, Sunday night, at the south end of Lake Tapps.
His friends lit candles and gathered in the shape of a large "Q" in the middle of a baseball field.
Boggan was celebrating the last day of school with his friends Thursday at Lake Tapps. He was in a popular swimming area when he drowned.
His friends say he was athletic, playing on the school's football and basketball teams, but he was not a strong swimmer.
The event also included a fundraiser for Boggan's family. He's survived by his mother, father, older brother and younger sister.
His friends say this has taught them not to take life for granted and to do a better job of looking out for each other.
