Police say a St. Albans, Vt., teenager is facing charges of drunken driving in a fiery crash that killed a Colchester woman who was riding in the car with him.

Twenty-five-year-old Tasha Maring was a passenger in a car that crashed into a utility pole then burst into flames the night of May 25. Police say she became trapped in the vehicle and died.

Sixteen-year-old James Companion was arrested at his Colchester home on Thursday. WCAX-TV reports that he has pleaded not guilty to driving under the influence with death resulting.

Police say Companion has never held a Vermont's driver's license or learner's permit.
