An autopsy was performed Thursday afternoon at the Northeast Indiana Forensic Center on a Fort Wayne man who was found dead early today near the intersection of Oliver and Greene streets.
The victim has been identified as DreShawn Lamond Cooper, 19, by the Allen County Coroner's Office.
It ruled the death a homicide and said that he was shot to death. Cooper's death is the 10th homicide in Fort Wayne and the county so far this year.
Officers responded to a "man down" call about 1:30 a.m. and found Cooper lying near the sidewalk, police reports said. Paramedics determined he was dead at the scene, which is near Bunche Elementary School.
