Authorities have identified the man, woman and children involved in an apparent murder-suicide that has shocked a Lexington County community.

Lexington County Coroner Harry O. Harmon said 27-year-old Amanda Hartley Peake and her two children, Cameron, 9, and Sarah, 6, died after being shot by Peake's estranged boyfriend, Chancey Foy Smith, 32, of Rabon Road in Lexington.

Harman said it appears that Smith shot and killed Peake and her two children Tuesday night in her home on Farm Chase Drive in the Red Bank area of Lexington County and then turned the gun on himself.

Lexington County Sheriff's Major John Allard said Peake, her daughter, Sarah, and Smith died at the scene and Peake's son, Cameron, died on the way to the hospital.

Deputies have not released the motive behind the shooting and have not determined if there were any previous reports of domestic violence between the couple.

Allard said Smith was not the children's biological father.

According to Amanda Peake's MySpace page, the children's biological father, Matthew Peake, died in a fire in 2007. Matthew Peake was a Fairfield County deputy and the two were married for 5 years before his death.

Amanda Peake is a 2001 graduate of Pelion High School, according to her MySpace page.

Autopsies will be performed to determine exact cause of death, Harman said.

The Lexington County Sheriff's Department and the Lexington County Coroner's Office continues to investigate.
