Garrett Matthew Duffrin, 21, a resident of Menominee passed away on Friday, July 17 due to an automobile accident.

Born on June 1, 1988, in Marinette to Matthew and Kim (Kolaszewski) Duffrin, he graduated from Catholic Central High School in 2006.

He then attended NMU in Marquette, Mi., where he received a diploma as an electrical lineman technician in 2007. He continued his education at Oklahoma College of Construction in Oklahoma City and graduated in the top of his class in 2008. While in high school he worked for Walters True Value Hardware in Menominee and after graduating from NMU, was employed at Great Southwest Construction Company. After returning home in 2008 he worked for B&B Electric and was currently employed with Holtger Brothers Construction Company out of De Pere. He was a member of Holy Family Parish in Marinette.

Surviving are his parents, a brother, Victor and a sister, Lillian, all of Menominee; his paternal grandparents, Robert and Mary Duffrin of Menominee; his maternal grandparents, Pete and Linda Kolaszewski of Marinette and aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

Friends called on Tuesday, July 21 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Cadieu Funeral Home, Menominee, with prayer services held at 7:30 p.m. Visitation continued on Wednesday, July 23 from 9 a.m. until time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at Holy Family Church on Taylor Street in Marinette. Fr. Joseph Dorner officiated and burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Menominee.
