CHRISTOPHER LEE CANIPE, 26, of 3522 Charles Raper Jonas Highway, died Friday August 8 2009 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born in Gaston Co; son of the late Kathy Gibson Canipe Whaley. He was a graduate of East Lincoln High School.

Survivors include his father Terry Lee Canipe of Stanley; his step mother Carol Canipe of Lincolnton, a sister Lauren Pearson and husband Stewart of Iron Station, three brothers Darrin Smith and Seth Canipe both of Lincolnton, Daniel Day of Gastonia; his grandmother Anne Marie Canipe of Stanley; nieces and nephews Grace, Aiden and Sophia Pearson, Tate Smith; two uncles Joe Canipe and wife Sylvia, Robert T. Canipe all of Stanley, and an aunt Kay Canipe of Lincolnton.

A Memorial Service to celebrate the life of Christopher will be held 7:00 p.m. Monday August 10, 2009 in the Woodlawn Chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home in Mt. Holly. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. Monday.
