Jesup- Blake Edward Conant "The Snaker", age 15, passed away Thursday, April 16, 2009 after a sudden accident. He was a native of Wayne County living the past 10 months in Lugoff, South Carolina with his father. He was a student, an avid skateboarder and a 1st degree black belt since the age of 12. He was a member of the World Class Karate Studio. He will be loved and missed by his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather: Emory E. Knighten Jr. and a brother: Nicholas Conant.


He is survived by his mother: Kim Knighten of Jesup; sister: Aria Johnson of Wildwood, FL; father: Edward Conant of Lugoff, SC; maternal grandmother: JoAnn Crews of Jesup; paternal grandparents: Robert and Deanna Conant of Lugoff, SC; maternal great-grandmother: Dorothy Crews of Jesup; aunt and uncle: Buffy and Colorado Pye of Jesup; brother and sister: Hagen and Kashley Pye; aunt and uncle: Carey and Crystal Knighten of Jesup; cousin: Kamden Knighten; great aunt and uncle: Linda Grantham and Papa Jack Brinkley; paternal uncle: Robert Conant; cousins: Kristina and Michael Conant; special friends: Morgan Westberry and Kim Dudley.


Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 19, 2009 at 2 p.m. from the James R. Gordon Memorial Chapel of Howard-Jones-Nobles Funeral Home with Reverend Charles Manning and Reverend John Gallman officiating. Interment will follow in the Screven City Cemetery.


Visitation will be held Saturday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. from the funeral home.


Active Pallbearers will be James Pye, Corky Sikes, Jason Branch, Patrick Brown, Joseph Allen, and Chip Grantham.


Honorary Pallbearers will be members of World Class Karate.
