Two fatal wrecks in Gwinnett

Gwinnett police say a teenage driver may be charged in connection with a deadly two-car crash Friday morning. Another fatal crash happened in Gwinnett on Saturday afternoon.

The Saturday wreck happened around 3 p.m. on Lawrenceville Highway near Amberwood Drive in Lawrenceville when a sedan collided with an SUV. The driver of the sedan, 23-year-old Jean Solano-Luis of Lawrenceville, died from injuries sustained in the crash.

In the Friday accident, the 16-year-old driver of a Jeep Grand Cherokee crossed the center line of Oakland Road near Oakland Ridge outside of Lawrenceville, according to police reports. When he did, he struck a Buick Century head-on. The female passenger in the Buick was killed, while the driver of the Buick was hospitalized at last report at Gwinnett Medical Center in critical condition.

Police are not releasing the names of any of those involved.
