Details sought in death of teen in drug deal

Police are investigating the death of a teenager gunned down during a drug deal that left a second person dead and two wounded in south-central Fort Worth.

The shooting was reported about 10:30 p.m. Thursday in the 1200 block of East Ramsey Avenue. It involved members of a street gang and at least one assault rifle, police said.

When 17-year-old Carlos Johnson ran inside a home, an unknown number of people gave chase and gunned down the teen. He died at the scene.

A 16-year-old fled through the back of the home and was shot in the arm. He was transported to John Peter Smith Hospital with non-life-threatening wounds.

Two others were also taken to John Peter Smith. Henry Downey, 44, died there, and a 42-year-old man remains hospitalized and is in custody for his involvement in the shooting. Neither he nor the injured teen had been identified
