A 23-year-old woman was found dead in an Elm Street apartment last night, the apparent victim of an attack by her boyfriend.

The boyfriend, Taylor Hurst, 24, was in Central District Court this morning to face a murder charge. He pleaded not guilty and was ordered held without bail.

Authorities said the woman may have been dead since Friday.

"Everything indicates it was a couple of days," said police Sgt. Kerry F. Hazelhurst.

Authorities have identified the woman as Katherine MacDougall. Court records indicate she was strangled to death.

She was three months pregnant, police said.

The body of Ms. MacDougall was discovered about 10 last night by police who had been asked by a relative to do a well-being check, according to authorities. Family members had not heard from the woman for a few days.

"Her mother called out of concern," Sgt. Hazelhurst. "When officers got there, the place was in darkness, all locked up."

As some officers were making entry to the apartment, other officers were told to be on the lookout for the type of car in which the woman might be riding.

About the time officers entered the apartment and came across the body, other officers encountered the sought-after car in the area of Washington Square. Mr. Hurst was inside the vehicle. At the time, he had an open container of alcohol, and was taken into custody for a violation of a city ordinance.

Police questioned Mr. Hurst at police headquarters. He was charged with murder.

Ms. MacDougall and Mr. Hurst lived at Apt. 1, 90 Elm St.

Detectives are continuing their investigation this afternoon.

I was looking for that but all the articles online bascially said the same as the linked article. I was looking for a history of abuse. Her death only happened around Feb 24, prob more will come out later.

She reminds me of Michelle Williams
Something about the boyfriend really creeps me out. He looks like a sociopath in the court picture, and even in the photos of them together he sort of seems creepy. Maybe that's my "he killed his girlfriend" 20/20 hindsight though.

Anyone know where he's from? One of the picture comments refers to his having an accent.

He killed her with his bare hands in an act that required him to exert force on her neck for 30 seconds.

She looks like the sweetest thing.  She's got the most innocent yet slightly stupid smile. 
So very sad.  With his bare hands.  I guess his physhco ass wasnt ready for kids. She did look so sweet! RIPKatherine and babies.

I'm just curious to know:

1.) Did he honestly think he would get away with it?
2.) WTF was he doing in her car still in town, like no one is gonna come searching for the car, slick. 
3.) Were there any indications leading up to her murder that would have ever suggested this could have happened?

This was one that really puzzled me and made me really sad.
I wonder if he stayed in the apartment with the body for however many days until he was caught.

I also agree that he looks psycho.
