A White Bear Lake girl involved in an alcohol-related crash that killed two teenagers has apparently said the crash was her fault on MySpace.com.

Ramsey County investigators have obtained a search warrant to get records from MySpace to confirm that Heather Ann Tucci wrote the words.

Tucci, 18, has refused to talk to police about the Aug. 19 crash in which she is accused of drinking vodka from a bottle shortly before missing a turn and hitting a tree. She is charged with two counts of criminal vehicular homicide for the deaths passengers of Joseph Renner, 19, of White Bear Lake and Joseph Shafer, 18, of White Bear Township.

She is also charged with criminal vehicular operation in connection with injuries suffered by Samantha Ziebell, 18.

Tucci is free on $100,000 bail.

On MySpace, she apparently said the crash was “my fault” and she was taking “full responsibility.”

But the posting also lashes out at those who blame her for the deaths.

“Really think about it,” the posting states. “Both of them knew what they were getting into.”

“Her comments are totally inappropriate in her blaming the victims,” said Ramsey County Sheriff Bob Fletcher. “I’m sure that will be considered at her sentencing. Hopefully, by then she’ll have gained some real remorse.”

Shafer’s mother said Wednesday her son didn’t know Tucci that well.

“For her to write this on her space and take full responsibility, and then turn around and blame our boys for getting in the car and plead not guilty, is just very upsetting,” Shannon Shafer said. “Yeah, my boy did choose to get into that car. But my boy did not choose to die.”

Tucci’s attorney, Eric Thole, said he was unaware of the posting until the St. Paul Pioneer Press contacted him for a story published Thursday. He said he didn’t believe the posting would harm the defense.
