Investigators at the University of Central Florida are trying to determine if alcohol played a role in the death of a popular student.
Junior William Hyde, 20, a cheerleader on the Golden Knights award-winning squad, was found dead in his bed at his University House apartment on Wednesday afternoon, WESH 2 News reported.

Police said one of his roommates found him.

Neighbors said there was a party the night before that involved drinking.

"I was at the party the night before, so it was kind of a shock," said student Kris Blomquist. "It didn't seem out of hand or anything compared to other places I've been to. It's like the last house here I would expect someone to die at."

Officials said an autopsy will help determine whether drinking contributed to Hyde's death. Police said they do not suspect foul play.

Hyde transferred to UCF from Illinois last year.

Since his death, friends have flooded his MySpace.com Web site with loving messages saying goodbye.
