More than two weeks ago, a 19-year-old woman was strangled, shot in the head and set on fire. Now her mother is asking for help in solving her daughter's brutal death.

Catherine Cunningham drops by the area where her daughter, Danielle Amos, was found on June 12. She set up a memorial there that she visits often.

"I come here all the time. I don't know why I come here," she said. "Just maybe it comforts me. I don't know."

Amos had just moved to San Antonio about a month before she was killed.

"She was tiny, 110 (pounds), 5 foot, bubbly, fun, always laughing, just a happy little person," Cunningham said. "You know, I don't understand this."

Amos was laid to rest Monday. Her killer is still loose, and police have no leads.

"This was a cowardly act. People ask me if I'm afraid. I say, 'No, I'm not afraid of cowards. Whoever did this was a coward,'" Cunningham said.

If you have any information in Amos' murder, call Crime Stoppers at (210) 224-STOP (7867).
